Bolques Bulletin - July-August 2024 edition
In this edition, I’m thrilled to share how we’re celebrating and enriching our Virgin Islands culture and community. The 70th St. John Parade dazzled with Carnival Royalty, Maypole dances, and Caribbean Cuisine, highlighting our vibrant Culture. My meeting with Mr. Roberto Fulcar, Assistant to the President of the Dominican Republic, focused on cultural exchanges, economic cooperation, and educational partnerships, promising mutual growth for our people alike. The passage of Bill No. 35-0078 designated "Fish and Fungi" as our national dish and "Tart" as our official dessert, emphasizing our culinary legacy and boosting tourism. Donating books to the Florence Williams Library in St. Croix and preserving history. Finally, speaking to young athletes at the Cardinal Baseball Summer Camp and reinforcing the value of nurturing youth talent and community spirit. These initiatives show our commitment to honoring traditions, supporting our communities, and building a bright future for the Virgin Islands.

Senator At Large Angel Bolques Jr. extends his heartfelt gratitude to his colleagues in the 35th Legislature of the Virgin Islands for their unanimous support and approval of Bill No. 35-0078. This legislation officially designates "Fish and Fungi" as the national dish and "Tart" as the official dessert of the Virgin Islands.
